General ophthalmology
A comprehensive eye exam—especially when performed periodically—is the best way to prevent or detect, at an early stage, any condition that could compromise our vision.
In many cases, a comprehensive eye exam may be the only way to diagnose serious conditions in time—conditions that can lead to irreversible vision loss and, in extreme cases, even blindness.
Refractive surgery
Refractive surgery is the series of surgical techniques aimed at correcting eye alterations caused by a refractive defect, such as short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. Its purpose is to reduce or eliminate the need to use glasses or contact lenses.
These techniques include procedures done on the cornea (laser surgery) and procedures to implant intraocular lenses (intraocular surgery).
